Overview

Outside the EU, at the heart of Europe

Switzerland is not a member of the European Union and has its own currency, the Swiss franc. It is a long-established centre for private wealth management and commodity trading, and home to many international organisations and sports federations.

Swiss companies and foundations register in the commercial register of their canton, which records the people authorised to sign and how they sign. Companies also keep their own share register and a register of beneficial owners.
